Beautiful Read, Refreshing take. I have always seen "being queer has saved me" in some variation mainly through media or "I wouldn't choose anything else" and I think about my experiences, and I haven't really felt that strong in it "saving me" I've always seen my queerness as just an extension of me. Like another language I can speak haha. But when you put it as it made you a better friend, and how you shared it made you more attentive in your relationships I think about mine and swiftly agreed. I'm not sure who I would've been without my gay identity. I was never an angry person but a very close minded and timid one. I was the funny guy and nothing else was beyond that. Discovering myself has made me quite the challenging person when the topic is something I believe in. Or I'm just immensely empathetic like all the time. I never really took that quiet change into consideration. Thank you for sharing this. It's July now and no longer pride month but Happy Pride <3
โi wish that i could claw open my ribcage and present my bloodied heart to those that i love, watch them consume a part of me, wipe my blood off of their lips, and then beg them to allow me the same reverence.โ Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful piece. I resonated deeply with this: โqueer love, to me, is the purest form of the feeling. there is no element of transaction, or role-fulfillment, or biological function. the love is just love with no greater purpose.โ
it is always so special to hear that what i have written has put words to someone elseโs feelings! how cool that we are not alone in the way we feel about anything
religion and its inevitable similarities with queerness. no one else could have articulated that point better than you. i loved this piece - it is, just as queerness, beautiful
I feel a similar way, I am so thankful to be able to love women. Your writing has a brilliant vibrancy to it, which I love about your work. Thank you for sharing x
Queerness makes me cherish all my relationships so much more!! The fact that I allow myself to feel so much romantic love for girls and enbys is genuinely a privilege. Iโm able to value friendships more because Iโve become so accepting towards other peopleโs differences. Iโm so thankful for the supportive family members I have and I know their support brings us closer together. I have so much more appreciation for every human being because Iโm so attuned to all the weird and queer and amazing ways a human can be!!!
beautifully said <33 this perfectly encapsulates how i feel. i'm almost shocked i've never seen someone put it like this before. it's unfortunate that the more 'popular' feeling to ascribe to queerness is shame, because being queer is the best thing to have ever happened to me, and has saved me.
Religion is lesbian and gender is lesbian ๐ฆ๐ฆ
